During the day, use the DWARF mini to explore distant scenery, birds and wildlife. Its wide-angle and telephoto cameras make it easy to locate a subject and then move in for a closer view, with photos and video able to be saved directly from the telescope.
The Moon and Sun have their own dedicated observing modes. Explore lunar craters, mountains and shadows, or fit the included ND solar filter to safely image the Sun and see features such as sunspots.
Weighing just 840 g, the DWARF mini is exceptionally portable and easy to take outside at home, on holiday or away to a darker observing location.
As with many telescopes, the DWARF mini is less suited to detailed planetary viewing, with Jupiter and Saturn appearing relatively small. It is ideal for exploring the Moon, Sun, nebulae, galaxies, star clusters and the wider night sky, while also giving you the versatility of daytime viewing.
How does the Dwarf mini work
The main difference from a conventional telescope is how you see the view. Rather than looking through an eyepiece, the DWARF mini collects light from the object and displays the resulting image on your smartphone or tablet.
For night-sky viewing, set the telescope outside and connect your smartphone or tablet directly to it wirelessly - no internet required.
Open the Sky Atlas, an interactive map of the night sky where you can search for an object or see suggestions for what is available to explore from your location. Choose your target and the DWARF mini can automatically find it, centre it and track it as it moves across the sky.
For brighter objects such as the Moon, you can start viewing almost immediately.
Faint nebulae and galaxies need more light, so the telescope takes and combines a series of images. You can watch the image build on your screen, gradually becoming clearer and revealing more detail as more images are added.
During the day, the DWARF mini works like a powerful digital viewing telescope. Use the wide-angle view to find your subject, then the telephoto view to get closer to birds, wildlife or distant scenery. Photos and videos can also be saved as you go.
You don't need to understand the technology behind this to get started. The telescope can take care of much of the finding, focusing, tracking and image processing automatically, making it straightforward even if this is your first telescope.
As you become more experienced, there is plenty more to explore.
